Numeracy (NQT Primary Only)

The focus of this workshop is the practical implementation of the principles of good mathematics teaching in everyday classroom practice. Emphasis is placed on the development of number sense, mathematical language, problem-solving skills, and mental and oral maths activities in the classroom. The primary mathematics curriculum and LITERACY AND NUMERACY FOR LEARNING AND LIFE: The National Strategy to Improve Literacy and Numeracy among Children and Young People 2011-2020 (DES: 2011) are key reference documents for this workshop.
