Programme of Support/Clár Tacaíochta for Teaching Principals 2023/2024

We are very aware of the many challenges and demands that teaching principals face, due to societal changes and the constantly evolving nature of the role. With this in mind, we have developed a Programme of Support/Clár Tacaíochta for Teaching Principals 2023/2024.

Paudie O’Neill, a skilled facilitator with a strong background as a Primary Principal and many years’ experience as a facilitator will work with us to offer three get-togethers for teaching principals (9:30am-2.30pm) over the course of the school year commencing October 2023 for Principals in Laois Education Support Centre catchement area.

Each meeting will take place in Laois Education Support Centre. Lunch and refreshments will be provided on the day.

Teaching Principals who access a place on the programme will be assigned to a group and meet in that same group for the three sessions. Hopefully some principals will be able to use their admin days for this and, if we have enough interest, we will work towards running this over 5 days next year to allow all principals access on their admin day.

The Programme of Support/Clár Tacaíochta will be  a participant-led programme that will be responsive to the individual needs of those who attend. It is envisaged that each group will be limited in number in order to create a safe and comfortable space for all  who attend. They will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis.

We are delighted to be in a position to offer some extra tacaíocht and we would encourage all teaching principals in our catchment area to consider availing of this support. 

Agus an dea scéal - there is no obair bhaile, assignments or projects attached to this programme! The sole purpose is to support you and allow you time to reflect, step off the treadmill for a few hours and meet others who may well face similar challenges .
