Using Augmented and Virtual Reality to Support Teaching and Learning:
One of the most exciting and emerging technologies in education is Augmented, Virtual, and Mixed Reality. Augmented Reality (AR) enables users to overlay digital content like images, sounds, and text onto real-life scenes, while Virtual Reality (VR) allows students to visit remote locations without leaving the classroom. Mixed Reality (MR), on the other hand, combines both AR and VR to create an immersive learning experience.
This PDST TiE summer course is designed to support teachers in using AR/VR/MR to enhance teaching, learning, and assessment across different subjects. During the course, teachers will explore various applications, websites, and technologies related to AR/VR/MR and experiment with them in classroom activities that can be adapted and used in their teaching practice.
The course also covers other essential topics, such as digital citizenship and online safety, finding and selecting high-quality digital content, and exploring the Digital Learning Framework.
