Webinar 2: Accessibility features on the iPad/iPhone 19.11.2020
Powerful assistive features are built into iPad to complement your vision, hearing, motor skills, learning, and literacy. So you can create, learn, work, play, and do pretty much anything you want to do, wherever you want to do it, more easily than ever.
The iPad display comes with a range of customizable colour filters to complement different forms of color blindness or other vision challenges. So reading documents, surfing the web, or putting together a presentation is more accessible than ever.
Guided Access lets parents, teachers, or SNA’s limit iPad to one app at a time, and limit the amount of time spent in an app. The iPad can be a powerful tool for autistic people or those with attention and sensory challenges.
With an iPhone you don’t need to see it to use your iPhone. Navigate, write, and edit all with just your voice. You can cue complex, multi-action commands through simple phrases designed to fit your needs. A custom phrase like “Heading Home” can simultaneously let a family member know when you’re leaving work, pull up directions, and adjust your thermostat — all without having to go into each individual app.
Streamline the things you do every day. If you have a learning disability like dyslexia, features such as Speak Screen, Speak Selection, Typing Feedback, and Predictive Text can help by adding an auditory element to reading or writing email messages, blog posts, and long documents.
