Woodcock Johnson IV (WJ IV) standardised assessment tool for Primary and Post-primary schools training (27.1.2020)
Woodcock Johnson IV (WJ IV) is the new standardised assessment tool for Primary and Post-primary schools. The test can quickly and accurately assess areas of reading, maths and writing in students aged 4 years up to adulthood. The test is listed by the DES as an approved test for Irish exemptions, RACE applications and for use with the DARE scheme.
This workshop will introduce teachers to this new assessment tool and the tests within it. The workshop will consist of lecture and practical activities with plenty of time to get your hands on the test and try it out.
The WJ IV comprises of 11 different tests which you can choose from to enable your school assess core areas of reading, writing and maths with students aged 2 years up to 90 years old! This is a comprehensive assessment tool enabling you to identify students in need of support, pinpoint areas of difficulty (and strength), designing interventions and applying for resources and accommodations (e.g. irish exemptions and RACE/DARE for secondary students).
