Teacher Artist Partnership - venue is now Laois Education Centre
This course focuses on developing partnership between artists and teachers to enhance arts education and delivery for children, teachers and artists.
TAP is both theory and practically based, there is a particular focus on the importance of relationship between the teacher and artist. Through a combination of reflective, creative and practical activities experienced TAP practitioners will lead participants through their own creative history to a greater understanding of how collaborative partnership can lead to skill, knowledge and relationship development for both the artist and the teacher. Art forms including visual art, drama, dance/music and literacy will be explored so that partnerships will feel confident in developing and delivering their own unique arts project through the Curriculum.
Laois Education Centre will fund up to 8 residencies worth €1,000 each to participating teachers and artist partnerships within Laois Education Centre catchment area. The €1000 cover the cost of an artist’s residency within the school (20 hours approx. including preparation & contact hours).
To secure a place on this residency, it is preferable that two teachers attend TAP summer course from each school. If the number of applications exceeds the number of residencies available, selection criteria will apply.
