SNA Well-Being, Self-Care and Renewal for the Primary & Post-Primary SNA (10.10.19)
This three week course on (Thursday10th & 17th and Wednesday 23rd October 2019) will encompass all of the main principles of well-being, self-care and mindfulness practices. The course has two main aims:
- Firstly, to address the needs of the special needs assistant in relation to stress and explore these needs actively throughout the course through learning and engagement in well-being, self-care and mindfulness practices. This course will provide a space where the special needs assistant can reflect upon their own current practices in the area of well-being and learn new skills which can then be implemented into his/her life to reduce stress, improve his/her own well-being and to enrich his/her life in terms of daily living. The emphasis will be on the special needs assistant experiencing self-care and mindfulness practices for themselves.
- Secondly, there will be a space for the special needs assistant to explore how to bring these practices into their working life with the pupils and students that they work with. Please note however, that the emphasis for this course will be on the special needs assistant’s own well-being and self-care practices.
