Geographical Investigation Webinar: River Processes 14.9.2022

The aim of this webinar is to give teachers the opportunity to revise the various experiments involved in a river study, to develop fieldwork skills, which include careful observation and recording of information.  Some initial interpretation of the data will also be carried out.  Making sense of the results with the students will be discussed.

Experiments covered will include:

• River Velocity
• Cross-section and river discharge calculation
• River gradient
• Valley profile
• Bedload analysis
• Field sketch and observation

This year, the focus will be on the role played by geomorphic processes on the formation of one landform in a fluvial environment (example of a meander).
